The Turkish Cheque Act numbered 5941 was amended by the Act numbered 6273 which was entered into force on February 03, 2012. According to Turkish Code of Commerce cheque is counted within bills of exchange as a negotiable instrument. It's a payment instrument that shall be paid on sight, but it can also be drawn post-dated as a promissory note in practice.
